"If you can't fly then run,
if you can't run then walk,
if you can't walk then crawl,
but whatever you do you
have to keep moving forward."
-MLK
I have ALWAYS hated that quote. I mean I get it, the gist of what he is trying to say but what if you can't even crawl? It always made me think of my dad.
But then I heard a quote about 2 months ago....
And I have not stopped running since. My cutting had been getting a lot worse over the past 5 months. I was in control of it, but didn't really see a need to stop. But after hearing this quote and fully believing my dad helped put it where I would see it I have used running as my crutch to stop cutting. The aggression the anxiety that I have to cut or something bad will happen all seem to balance themselves out or go completely away after a good run. I run and push and push until I slmost break and collapse and that some how saves me.
I'm doing a lot better... for him.
"I run because u can.
When I get tired
I remember those who can't run,
what they would give to have this
simple gift I take for granted,
and I run harder for them.
I know they would do the same for me."
